Custom Layouts
My job ultimately is to listen to what you want, do my best logically (and with a liberal application of common sense) to come up with a look and feel that fits your needs based on what I’ve been presented with.
Having said that, my best work (and what others have unanimously stated is my best work) occurs when I’m not penned in as much with predefined color palettes and so on. I can most certainly follow directions to a “t” but cannot promise it will look good or is what I’d do if given a choice.
If you want, just ask, I’d be more than happy to email you a few examples of sites where I was provided constraining parameters, bad logos and some questionable choices overall. After seeing them I would imagine you’d understand the fine line between trying to keep within branding vs. adding just the right touch of ‘classy and well executed’ design options.
Bottom line is I prefer to work on sites where either the logos that I have to work with are ‘workable’ or I get to design the logos from scratch or worst case scenario, re-do a logo but keep it the same while improving it at the same time if that makes any sense.
The short version synopsis of all this?
If you want it to look exceptional and sharp – if it doesn`t look good, ask me what I would have done if it had been my own project – or – ask me to approach it from that point of view from the get go.
