Stock Photography
For a variety of reasons, ANY project I work on where we’re going to end up using Royalty Free Stock Images on the site layout, I always get my clients to sing up for the stock photography site of their choice, create a login user name and password and send it to me.
I do not incur these additional costs. The main reason you want to use a stock site for your images is legal accountability; you can prove you bought the images from Getty or wherever it was and have zero risk.
The second reason you might want to consider using stock images is because most clients don’t have the time, money or inclination to hire a professional photographer to come in and do a shoot.
Subsequently there are either NO pictures available or what pictures there are, are sub par which leaves us with no alternative other than stock images.
There are so many sites out there that range in quality, volume, pricing that I’ll just give you a few to review:
One last note is that if you REALLY really want your site to look incredible – although it’s considerably more expensive, Getty Images, in my humble opinion, is the be-all and end-all of unique, high quality RF shots.
