What I Need From You
First and foremost is a full site map – this means everything from “Home Page” through to Contact Us, everything in between and in what order they go.
If you have a logo already, please send me the original .eps, .ai, .wmf or a layered .psd high resolution file of it.
A lot of times I have clients that go as far as to physically draw a bunch of plain boxes on a roughed out page with “Logo here”, “Latest News Specials here” and “Drop down menus here” so I have a rough sketch or outline. They know EXACTLY what they want where, they just want me to execute it and make it look good.
This is by no means imperative – in fact, often times all I DO get is a site map and they’ll ask me to use my best judgment on it and come up with something myself that fits.
If there are samples on my portfolio where you happen to like the way certain elements are done on specific ones, a lot of guys will say > they liked the overall color scheme of Sample_0024.jpg, the navigation style of All_New_Visual_Developments.jpg and how I did the page background on Sample_0048.jpg giving me a good indication of what direction they want to go.
Other clients will give me one or two sites they just LOVE and they do not even have be in the same industry – it too, will assist me with gaining a better understanding of what you’re hoping for.
If you have product photos, photos of yourself or your staff or any other company/site related items I need to have to utilize as part of the design – I’ll need those as well.
